TO THE CLIENTS OF COMPASS POINTE CPAS, LLP

This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information collected from you through our site and other means.

Acquisition of Information

As your CPA, we collect non-public personal identifiable information provided by you from your tax organizer, worksheets, documents, securities transactions and discussions with you. Personal identifiable information is information that identifies you, such as your name, postal address, telephone number, and email address. If you are our client, we may collect certain additional personally identifiable information from you, including, without limitation, your Social Security number, tax identification number, age, corporate name and structure, internal accounting methods, financial status, assets, income, tax information, retirement and estate plan information, transaction history, account balance, payment history, investment objectives, marital status, family relationships, and other personal information.

Depending on the particular service you have requested, we may also request non-public personal information from other parties, including but not limited to your financial advisor, attorney, bank loan officer, insurance agent or credit report. However, this third-party information is never obtained without your specific authorization of the type of information and the sources from which it may be obtained.

Disclosure of Non-Public Personal Information

It is the policy of Compass Pointe CPAs, LLP to keep all information about our engagement with you confidential. We will not sell, license, transmit or disclose any information about you unless we have your approval or such disclosure as required/permitted by law. This continues to apply if you are no longer a client of the firm.

Internally, all information acquired is disclosed to employees of Compass Pointe CPAs to conclude the engagement entered into. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect such personally identifiable information.

We may disclose personally identifiable information to the following parties under the following circumstances: (1) to you, if you direct us to do so; (2) to unaffiliated financial services providers, custodians, and trustees, banks, financial representatives, vendors, affiliates, or third parties who assist us or who perform services on our behalf in order to provide you with products and services or to affect transactions that you request or authorize in writing; (3) to third parties if we are compelled to do so by law; and (4) to third parties in order to protect any account you may have with us from fraud, misfeasance, malfeasance, or other wrongful act.

Disclosure Required by Law

From time to time, we may be required to disclose your personally identifiable information in response to a court order, subpoena, government investigation, or as otherwise required by law. We also reserve the right to report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we, in good faith, believe to be unlawful. We also may disclose certain personally identifiable information when we believe that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of others or ourselves.

Website Information

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Compass Pointe CPAs website.

On some pages, you can make requests and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected are:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number

We use the information you provide about yourself when placing a request only to complete that request. You can register with our website if you would like to receive our marketing brochure, as well as information on service offerings. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that request.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the uses described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial to safeguard and secure the information we collect online, through the mail or in person. We will take reasonable measures, which we believe are appropriate to protect your personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction; however, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of that information.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may change this privacy policy at any time. Please check this policy frequently for changes. Your continued use of our site and services means that you accept the terms of this privacy policy and that we have the right to use the information we collect from you, whether personally identifiable information or anonymous, as stated in this privacy policy. If you do not accept the terms of this privacy policy, you must not use our site and services. Use of our site and services after a change to this privacy policy means that you accept the changes made to the terms of this privacy policy.
