Acquisition of Information

As your CPA, we collect non-public personal information provided by you from your tax organizer, worksheets, documents, securities transactions and discussions with you. Depending on the particular service you have requested, we may also request non-public personal information from other parties, including but not limited to your financial advisor, attorney, bank loan officer, insurance agent or credit report. However this third party information is never obtained without your specific authorization of the type of information and the sources from which it may be obtained.

Disclosure of Non-Public Personal Information

It is the policy of Compass Pointe CPAs to keep all information about our engagement with you confidential so we will not disclose any information about you unless we have your approval or such disclosure as required/permitted by law. This applies even if you are no longer a client of the firm.

Internally, all information acquired is disclosed to employees of Compass Pointe CPAs to conclude the engagement entered. We have our own accounting, consulting and financial services activities which we may need to provide information that by law is considered non-public personal information.

You have the right to opt out of the disclosures.

Website Information

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Compass Pointe CPAs website.

On some pages, you can make requests and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected are:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Telephone number

We use the information you provide about yourself when placing a request only to complete that request. You can register with our website if you would like to receive our marketing brochure, as well as information on service offerings. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that request.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the uses described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information,

we have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures that meet federal and/or state standards to safeguard and secure the information we collect online, through the mail or in person. Sherman & Armbruster, LLP will internally safeguard your personal information by restricting access

to only those employees who provide products or services to you or those who need access to your information to service your account.
